Six-eight Exercise 1 - interval variations
Here is the original Six-eight Exercise 1 in unison.
By starting the right hand on E - a tenth above the left hand C - and sticking to the same shape throughout (see right), we can play the whole exercise in tenths. |
|
If we leave the right hand starting on C and start the left hand on the E below, we will hear the exercise playing in sixths. |
|
This is how you are going to play the Hanon six-eight exercises in tenths or sixths.
You will see the 'unison' MS (the music for the two hands playing the same notes), followed by the contour shapes and an instruction to "Play Six-eight Exercise X in tenths (or sixths)".
The audio file shows you what your performance should sound like.
