Harmonic minor - C and the sharp keys
The 'harmonic minor' is so called because it provides the three principal chords of the classical minor key.
These are:
This is the reason for the curious combination of minor sixth (the third of the iv chord) and the major seventh (third of the V chord).
The harmonic minor scale uses the same notes descending as ascending.
