The One-octave Major Scales
The 'All-Black' Scales
This series of four pages presents a practice drill for the twelve major scales, two hands over one octave.
The twelve keys/scales are divided on these pages as follows:
This page contains the 'All-Black' 2H/SFG3 scales - B major, F sharp major (enh. G flat ) and D flat major.
Here is the original Scale Fingering Group diagram for reference.

The three 2H/SFG4 scales - B major, F sharp major (enharmonic G flat) and D flat major - use all the black keys.
These three keys each use a different pair of the available four white keys, according to these diagrams.
The B major scale uses white keys B and E. |
*The B major scale right hand is also a Group One scale - a group of three and a group of five. *B major also appears in 2H/SFG3 with F major because of its LH 4+4 fingering.
The G flat major scale uses white keys C flat and F. |
*The LH2 on the top G flat is a 'convenience' finger (in place of LH4). Written as F sharp major, the white keys are B and E sharp.
The D flat major scale uses white keys C and F. |
*D flat major left hand is also an SFG4 scale. *The LH2 on the top D flat is a 'convenience' finger (in place of LH3). |

The same notes can also be indicated as G flat major.
The white keys will in that case be referred to as C flat and F (natural).
Now revise all your one-octave major scales!
D flat major. Five flats: B flat, E flat, A flat, D flat and G flat and C flat.
Work up to a reliable performance by following the video below.
That covers all twelve one-octave major scales. A regular pass through all twelve scales using this practice routine - and reminding yourself of the scale fingering 'architecture' - will seal your command of all the keys and familiarize your fingers with the full variety of keyboard 'feels'.
