Teaching notes
The difficulty is adjusting from the wide-span octave shake to the close-quarters scalar motion. Fingering must accommodate preparation to span the octave whenever it comes.
You have to sit in a position to suddenly go down below the right hand thumb, also.
A selection of keys. The fingering and 'hand-feel' for E minor and A minor will be exactly the same as for D minor, so they are omitted - you've already learned them!
Learn/play this exercise in two keys at a sitting to increase your experience of different key hand-feel.
