Advanced Arrangements
These arrangements incorporate both held left hand notes (thumb and LH5) and harmonisation using (among other things) thirds, sixths and tenths.
The first arrangement is the 'Sixths and tenths' arrangement from the Harmonising module, but with the left hand intervals (pairs of notes) 'broken' ('flapped'). The top LH note - the one that harmonises the melody - is held.
Play it as mournfully as you can! Really "turn the taps on". You probably have to feel completely 'over the top' before it comes through to the listener!
Here's a worm's-eye view of this style of playing. The music is identical except for 'Line Three' (MS shown below).
The ending is also slightly different.
Here's a crossed hands version with harmonisation 'in contrary motion' (the two melody and bass lines travelling in different direction).
Now let's take a look at decorating the melody with 'ornaments'.
