Snake Dance Series
Performance Medleys 2
Here are two more Snake Dance medleys - make a plan to debut them at your next party!
Be sure to work methodically through the tapping drills.
Medley Three has the same off-the-beat left hand as Medley Two, the difference being that the first left hand fifth/sixth in the bar is 'staggered' - played bottom-top in quavers.

Line Three phrase
The left hand in Line 3 is suppose to be staggered bottom-top, top-bottom, bottom-top etc., but the pattern gets lost somewhere along the line. Can you hear where?
The left hand rhythm is the same as the final build-up performance, except that the left hand plays block intervals instead of broken intervals (notes together instead of rolled).
You need a faster pace to get away with playing those constant fifths!
Line One combined
Second half
The left hand is like the final build-up performance, but holds the little finger down for the whole line (four bars), like a 'drone' on a hurdy-gurdy.
The sound is in three layers now. Hear it - own it!
Lastly, test your memory and play-by-ear (aural) skills with the
Snake Dance Audio Challenge.
